The sound of the large metal gears grinding and clinking together, had been the only thing Malachi had been listening to; the time drawing closer to an hour past noon. Peering out through the thick window face of the tower clock: everyone looked like small speckled ants, moving about slowly, but surely moving. His hands rested against the metal railing, his fingers wrapping around the thick pole and keeping his elbows straight, as he tensed his muscles slightly. There was never anything better than having silence and tranquility in places you'd never expect them, but then again the Clock Tower was a most likely place..with little folk wandering up that high to visit it. With a low sigh, he let his eyes roll once..pushing himself away from the guard rail, as he scanned the place around him and only stopping to look above-- as he began watching the gears rotate. The objects had only held his interest for a millimeter of a second, and his mind insisted with gazing upon something else.

Malachi found himself once again looking around, but found nothing that caught his eye for more than a few seconds. With his arms crossed over his chest, he smoothly took a step closer toward the wall all the while beginning to whistle quietly; a little tune he had remembered, from his childhood. The tune rang throughout the room, but the echos fell silent the moment he had stopped and a small smile replaced his pursed lips from before. The memories of his sister flooded in, how he missed her. Their last meeting had probably not gone as he had hoped or how he had wanted it to be, but there was nothing he could do now. He watched his feet for the duration, mulling things over as he subconsciously began to whistle the tune. He couldn't recall the last time he had ever been somewhat calm, in his time alone. Usually he was always accompanied by a friend or more, but now it seemed rather fine to be alone once in a while..or so he thought it was what he wanted. "Merlin I need a drink." He groaned with a sigh as he rubbed his temples.

The sudden stressful pressure squeezing at his head had seized to be, when the sound of voices, had flooded in through the only entrance to the tower. His hands hovered in the air--in the same place they had been at his temples, but his head had turned to listen closely, mentally hoping no one would decide to pay a visit. Then finding some strand of chance that someone would decide to appear. He'd always been rather difficult with himself, when it came to decisions..never really finding what was suitable or not, at the moment, until something presented itself. Fixated solely on the entrance he had moved from his spot, stepping closer toward the gears, to lean against the thin railing there--as he listened to the voices fading away now.

Apparently company wasn't exactly what he wanted, but he still felt as though he needed something to do, and yet there wasn't a single thing that had crossed his mind then that would give him the satisfaction. He sighed heavily from his nostrils, pushing himself away from the rail in a couple of long strides, until he found himself leaning over the railing at the spiral staircase--glancing down it..at its incredible altitude. He could no longer hear the echoes of a single voice, unlike before.. nothing but the breathing of his own lungs nervously expanding at the height. It seemed pointless to remain in the tower now, he was surely not going to achieve anything hiding away up there..if he wanted to find something to do, or come across someone pleasantly familiar.

The soles of his shoes clunked against the metal steps, as he began his descend, and not even after a couple of steps, he had picked up a second pair of feet; such as his own, appearing almost out of no where. He had leaned over the rail to look down, nearly causing himself to flip over it in the process, but he hadn't seen a single head on the stairs below and surely it couldn't be behind him. If there had been someone else, other than himself, in the tower..he would have known. His brow twitched to shadow his eyes, with his slight confusion, but decided it was best to not pay attention to the sound. Picking up where he left off, his feet began once more, hitting the metal steps as he made his way down. At long last, the sound of the second pair of feet, hadn't appeared and he had finally reached the end of his descend. The corridors weren't exactly as busy, per say, as the ones closer toward the main floor, but he wasn't surprised to see a couple of other students making their way passed him.

A petite blond stood in the shadows of a place she thought she never had to see again. Sabrina's big blue eyes scanned the large iron gate in front of her in total disgust. Even though she was more intelligent then the average person (being a former Ravenclaw and all) and loved to learn, she didn't enjoy Hogwarts. It had too many memories of drama, old friends, and worst of all the ghost of her ex lover lingered in ever corner of the castle. She took a deep breath as a cloaked figure came toward her. Sabrina was here representing The Ministry today. She had a meeting with the Headmaster and she was eager to do it and get it over with so that she could leave this effin place.

The cloaked professor greeted her and opened the gate before looking her up and down. Clearly she didn't approve of Sabrina's outfit. She wore six inch black pumps a soft green, body hugging, short skimpy dress even though it was cold outside. Her own black cloak was tightly wrapped around her and she had a silver headband pushing back her long platinum blond hair. She hadn't noticed that she was sporting the Slytherin House colors, and the thought made her slightly blush. "Hello again Ms.Troy, I see you haven't changed a bit. Doing well?" The Professor asked her but only half interested. Sab knew what she had meant by saying 'I see you haven't changed'. She was referring to the fact that Sabrina had a reputation at Hogwarts for being spoiled, wild, snobby and...loose. "Very well indeed actually", she answered in her seductive breathy voice. Her slight French accent rolling of her tongue. "I take it you're doing well considering you still have a job here", She added with a little smirk. The Professor said nothing, but slightly nodding with a grimace. Sabrina knew she never had liked her much even though she was one of the top in her class.

They walked the rest of the way into the castle and up to the Headmaster's office in silence. The meeting was dull, and mostly about security and important goin-on's. She lingered a while making small talk with the Headmaster as he offered her candy and asked her questions about her well being. She tried her best to stay calm and collective but it was rather hard lying to the gray haired man in front of her. She skimmed threw most things but all in all told the truth. She hated to see the slight disappointment in his eyes but knew that he didn't consider her a lost cause. He knew exactly what she had been up too outside of the Ministry. But of course he would, he knew everything. Tired of forcing conversation, Sabrina excused herself with the Headmaster telling her that she should leave. She thanked him for the candy and shut the large oak door of his office a little too loudly in a hurry, and headed down the spiral staircase into the hall.

She had been walking for a moment absent minded going over the conversation, making sure she hadn't said too much until she passed the clock tower. She considered going up there for old times sakes. She hated what memories hid there, but she was scared to leave the castle anyway but calm. Sabrina knew that she could find peace and quiet up there even for just a few minutes before the old familiar castle would disappear behind her once again. She thought this threw quickly as students passed by her. Many of them were much taller then she was, and she found it embarrassing that she was only 5'2. Even some of the third years that rushed past her timidly were bigger then she was. She sighed and walked to the clock tower door and opened it. Sabrina shut this door more softly behind her this time. She had taken a few steps before she heard another set of feet. She froze dead where she was. No one ever came up here. That was the appeal. It would be the first time she ran into someone with out wanting to in this place and the idea made her walk back down the few steps she had came.

She paused again, her little hand on the door's handle listening. This time she heard nothing. Her mind was playing tricks on her she knew it. She began walking up the stairs again, but when she heard the second set of footsteps she stopped. This time they didn't so she quickly turned around again and hid in the shadow by the door. This time she could here movement of a body. Most likely it was looking over the railing and she was glad whoever it was couldn't see her. Once it was silent again, Sabrina opened the door and stepped out, moving on her tiptoes so that her heals wouldn't click. She walked to the other side of the hall way and leaned against the wall. She placed her hands on her head as she shook it. This was ridiculous. Obviously her mind was playing tricks on her. The movement was just her imagination, making the moments with Lafayette more vivid.

Just as soon as she convinced herself of this theory however, She heard the door in front of her open. The person that had been up there wasn't a student at all, and was completely unexpected. What in the name of this green earth was he doing here. She raised her perfectly (perfect for her face anyway) waxed eyebrow, examining the figure in front of her before her full lips parted into a slight smile. "Malachi?" She asked even though she knew perfectly well who it was. She walked over to him so that he actually had a view of her. She might have been pretty but there was no denying that she was small and could have easily blended in as a student. "What are you doing here?" She snapped? Hopefully not ruining her cover. Sabrina had a public image. She played a Quidditch Players daughter who worked in the Ministry as an Unspeakable to the Wizarding world by day. But at night in her private life she was a Death Eater, a very good and vicious one at that. Her pretty face held a cold expression as the thought of being exposed ran quickly threw her head. It was warm again in an instant.

Whatever reason he was here for, she knew that Malachi was anything but stupid. Relief splashed over her body before a warm fuzzy feeling took it over. She felt oddly happy to see her friend, finally someone she didn't have to pretend with was in her company. Plus Sabrina hadn't seen Malachi in a unusually long time for them. "I would ask what you are doing here but I really don't want to know." She added before Linking her arm with him. She stayed where she was next to him, waiting for a response to walk. "I am glad to see you though, what have you been doing? Or actually wait to answer that." She gently tugged him, waiting for him to follow her in the direction that she wanted to go. "Will you join me for the rest of the day, maybe in Hogsmead? Unless you want to hide up in the tower some more....I was wondering who's feet i had heard up there. Funny that it was you." Her sapphire blue eyes sparkled at him, but aside from her warm expression in her jewel like eyes, the rest of her face was blank.
